#GMA #HairLoss #COVID19
This IS a symptom of having had Covid? 😮. I was wondering about this.
So glad I saw this GMA post! I have been suffering with covid hair loss for a year! My hair curly just like the girl in the vid. I got covid first time Christmas ‘21. Hair started coming out and just lifeless, not usual fluffy curls about one month later. Just kept progressing. Even my beautician was stumped because nothing was helping. Seemed to be getting better like start of summer. Got covid again Fourth of July time ‘22. And it has started all over again 😩. I did finally go to the dermatologist january ‘23. Who said all these same things. And said it’s a waiting game for it to go away. I have upped my vit d in my multivitamin at the docs suggestion to 2000iu/day in the morning. Biotin at before bedtime. And collagen powder supplement in the morning. Olaplex treatments with my beautician twice a month. I pretty much exclusively now go to her just for a wash and deep condition twice a month just to limit my stress with seeing my hair coming out when I wash it myself. No flat ironing. Just 🤞🏽 my fingers this ends soon 😔 I really want my curls back to get married with my natural hair.
Female pattern hair loss is more common than you know. Might not be from Covid.
Had COVID in November. shedding increased in December. Now in February my hair is not shedding, it's falling out in clumps. I changed shampoo, no styling tools, taking Viviscal but no improvement yet. Praying it slows down in soon. I'm not the only one in friend group to experience this after a COVID infection. We are all late 50s early 60s. My bout with COVID was what I'd call moderate. Was down for about 5 days, treated symptoms we with oTC cold meds, Muscinex was a life saver. Anyway, hoping for relief soon.
Lost hair right after second vax..not prior. I had cv "naturally" half a year prior to being forced to get vaxed, no loss. But after 2nd vax…I'm almost bald on top. It's been a year, no return. Will not vax again, those companies and the gov't know this no doubt, but they will never own it.
I'v lost 1/4 of my hair in 3 1/2 months 🙁 still lo sing tons more 🙁 2-28-23
I love how they say it will get better…which it does eventually. But the problem is, as soon as it stops falling out and your hair slowly grows back (which can take a year) ur most likely going to get Covid again. Which happened to me 3 months ago and here I am again, my hair falling out in clumps in the shower. It’s going to be a never ending cycle.. 😭 my hair will never be long again at this rate.
All my hair is gone 😢😢😢😢 i look so old and unhealthy because u can see my scalp now so depressing
This is happening to me right now 😢
I had a bad covid in December 2022 and now it’s falling out in clumps every time I brush or wash its so much.
I hope it stops soon. I have graduation in May and so worried I will have no hair 😢
It’s been two years for me and my hair is just getting worse, I am thinking about shaving😢😭😭😭
It's not the vaccine 😆
That is soo true! I tested saw palmetto and I talk more about it in my channel
Its the jab
I don’t know what to do too! I’m about to buy a wig. My scalp hurts all the time so much, and I’ve lost 50% of my hair. My hair was already on thin side but now you can see my scalp. I was really sick with Covid prior to this. The sickest I’ve ever been in my life. It took 6 days for my fever to break and I couldn’t eat for weeks. I’m freaking out about my hair now. I’m looking at a $400 wig that I can’t even afford, but I don’t know what else to do.
I had a super strong flu in November lasted almost a whole month sick"NOT covid". I noticed my hair start thinning about 3 months after the flu. It hasn't stopped falling out more than usual during shower or brushing but I do see many baby hairs sticking up so I have some hope.
Could it be from the vaccines? Seems more likely.
Currently going through this. Had Covid like 4 months ago and then my hair just started shedding out of nowhere
I know 2 people that lost their hair from the vaccine
This worked for me but I’ve been making my own Coffee oil hair stopped falling out about two to three weeks after using. Apparently caffeine helps stop it.
1 C olive oil
3 -5 Tbsp coffee
Simmer on low for about 15 minutes to half an hour.
Strain with a panty hose, cheesecloth or whatever you have on hand.
I had a bald patch after Covid flu and it kinda resembled ring worm my doctor gave me a cream n it ended up working thank god
The last two years I took my shots as I was mandated to do if I wanted to keep my job however in the last 6 months I noticed my hair started break off and very dry and brittle so I kept my hair protective styles my hair is just now getting back soft and took its natural state
I totally forgot about stupid covid and its side effects. I lost half of my hair to the point where I can see my scalp easily. I shed in the shower, combing, or even doing nothing, I just walk and my hair just fly to the ground, my house has my hair everywhere. I tried natural oils for hair regrowth, I use shampoo with no parabens or silicone, I take vitamins, eat healthy and my hair still sheds. And stupid doctors blame it on stress or getting old. I didn't know that at 37 I should just wait home and die because I'm getting old😒
And i thought i was the only one facing this.
I lost my hair from covid too. It is so heartbreaking.
Yeah sure…it comes back and then i get Covid again so🤷♀️
Got covid 2.5 yrs ago. Lost half my hair in just 2 weeks. I was mortified. Still have hairfall. Overall i have lost 70 to 80 % of my hair. It is not growing back either. Before covid my hair would always double in six months in thickness and length but now even after almost 3 years im left with a couple of strands of short very thin hair. I miss my thick and long and healthy hair 😢😢😢
Bro Covid making me bald asf.. loosing a lot of hair in the shower. What the heck.
After delivery, I observed my hairfall but I stayed calm. I took action to remedy it. I chose a wellness-focused approach.
I took care of my nutrition, eating vitamin-packed foods, especially rich in Vitamin E and Protein.
I exercised daily and engaged in yoga for stress control.
I just stayed away from styles that pull on my hair and quit using heated styling tools to prevent hair stress.
I also started using LittleExttra's Coconion shampoo, hair oil along with a neem wood comb.
The outcome was hairfall control and the recovery of my hair.
It's so frustrating because i had covid last year and my hair fell out so bad,so i just went to the salon and i got it cut all even and my hair started progressing alot but then i got covid 2months ago and all the hair i grew had came back out so now im back to where i started ugh i just gave up on my hair!!
This has happen to me my hair is so thin after COVID!!!
I am still suffering it even after 2 years I didn't recover….I took medication for one and half year
About a month to month and half after recovering covid I noticed two bald patches on my beard. The condition is called alopecia barbe which is cause by immune system attacking hair follicles. I had 3 moderna vaccines. I have feeling that covid along with over reaction from mrna vaccine is triggering the auto immune response causing my condition. Did anyone else had covid vaccine and got bald patches on beard?
Im bald now
Happened with me 2021 vaccines..lasted 6 months…I had barely anything left globs in shower hair brushes full every day…I had to curly hair super short and keep cutting it it that way another 2 times.. hair began to grow and it took 18 months to feel normal again then I caught covid virus.. Sept 2023 and nov.. and Dec same thing happening all over again..
No, you CANNOT prevent it. I eat healthy foods, take vitamins, use mild shampoo, etc. 😒
Yet another reason to mask up. N95s save tresses.
I thought I was crazy. My PCP never even mentioned this could’ve been it. I had Covid and a month later my hair was coming out in chunks. My hair is still thin a year later. Everyone just said it was stress. I’ve been stressed out way worse and this is just the icing on the cake. I mean, never have I had my hair fall out. 😢
I got sick with Covid December Of 2020 and it’s 2024 and I still have horrible hair loss.. and I know it’s from Covid because I was violently sick.. a month later the hair loss hit me, having my hair tied up will lose me from about 100-300, but that’s excluding what I lose in the shower. Anyways, I can’t even style it anymore, when I decided to put my hair up, it’s only on special occasions! Doctors suck ass and brush this shit off.. anyone going through this and found a solution? Any tests out there that are being done? Please let me know..
I had Covid in 2021. 4 months later I had half of my hair fall out. It never got better. I tried nutrofol, and many other vitamins.
I have been waiting for 4 years mine got worst
