SERIES IS OVER
Lakers are bigger and better. No answer for AD. Lakers got all the easy shots in the paint. All Warriors can do is jack low-percentage, high volume threes and usually misses them.
Steph got blocked by both LeBron and AD. Warriors can't do anything against the Lakers' size and length in the paint. AD is a much better defender than Sabonis. His defense will be the single most important factor.
Steph who is only 6'2 was bothered by 6'8 Vanderbilt's height and length. He couldn't take the final shot because 6'5 Austin Reaves came to double and got trapped near halfcourt. Steph and Klay combined to miss 30 shots from 49 FG attempts.
From start to end, I watched a superior team get all the easy shots and defend better. Warriors took all the difficult ones and bricked them. Let's be honest, LeBron and AD are a better duo than Steph and Klay. I knew Steph would come back to Earth and shoot poorly which he did.
When the Splash Bros. can't splash, they crash. LeBron and AD do other things. LeBron can facilitate and rebound. AD does the same and defends at a high level. They don't need to make threes to be effective. If Steph can't make threes, what is he good for? Nothing. Same with Klay and Poole. Bring out the "they too little" taunt.
I really hope I'm wrong. I hate the Lakers far more than the Warriors. But I'm getting vibes the Lakers will sweep the series. I'm still annoyed that the Warriors only got 6 free throws attempts to the Lakers' 29. It's pretty clear Adam Silver prefers LeBron over Steph like he showed in 2016.
I gotta feeling Warriors lose Game 2. Then lose both games in LA. Bring out the brooms. Even if they win Game 2, they probably will lose Game 3 and 4. Lakers in 6. The best player in this series is neither LeBron or Steph. It's AD who still is in prime. He's going to need to be. I believe he'll win Finals MVP.
Lakers over Warriors in 4 or 6.
Lakers over Nuggets in 6.
Lakers over Sixers in 6.
It could be Celtics, Heat, or Knicks, and Lakers are still winning it all. LeBron will win his 5th ring but he won't win the Finals MVP and he won't be the GOAT. Congratulations to Anthony Davis for finally staying healthy and winning the 2023 Finals MVP. And congrats to the Lakers for winning their 18th championship.
It's not sustainable. There will be a different champion next year. This will be LeBron's Last Dance. But he closes Steph's championship window next week. Warriors' only hope in this series is if AD gets injured. When he's engaged, it's like watching Shaq. LeBron is having the Magic/Kobe role just feeding the big man.
1. Los Angeles Lakers 💵
2. Philadelphia 76ers 💵
3. Denver Nuggets 💵
4. Miami Heat 💵
5. Boston Celtics 💵
6. Golden State Warriors 💵
7. New York Knicks 💵
8. Phoenix Suns 💵
Thank goodness I put all my money on Warriors and Lakers before Game 1. I know whoever wins this series will win it all. This is already the NBA Finals given to us a month in advance.
The other franchises have proven nothing to us the last few years. Won nothing. Anthony Davis should be the prohibitive favorite for Finals MVP. LeBron kept bricking from deep like he's Westbrick. LeBron can now afford to take the backseat at his age.
Maybe Adam Silver's refs will show mercy to the home team and give them more than 6 free throws. It's blatantly obvious the refs are rigging it again to help the Lakers win another championship. Adam clearly has a bias.
I won't watch the rest of the playoffs. Watching the Lakers win drives me nuts. But I will be happy when I collect my money next month. Can't wait to collect my payouts in 6 weeks. Thank you, Lakers. Easy money. I still hate you but thank you.
2023 NBA Champions: Los Angeles Lakers
2023 Finals MVP: Anthony Davis
This game came down to one shot Warriors went into a zone and DLO put Wiggins in the post and hit the crucial shot
Free throw disparity is the ONLY stat. Reffing was rigged.
29 free-throws
He was up 2-1 in the first finals
I would have to say that this was a pretty darn great game for LeBron. I would be pretty proud if I were him ad his teammates and coach.
This guy in the middle’s math is wrong and he can’t speak straight🤣
Awesome!
Lakers: 29 FT attempts
Warriors: 6 FT attempts
I watched the game. This gap shouldn't have been that big.
0:08 Didn't the Cavs go up 2-1 in the 2015 finals?
That Anthony Davis is an absolute beast on the boards. He reminded people that when he's healthy he is a top five player in the NBA. It's not just his points that are valuable. It's his defense block shocking and rebounding.
I’ll put it like this. You ever watch a football team that plays excellent D and runs the ball? Very hard to beat. That’s the Lakers. They turn stops into easy 2s and get to the FT line. Think 49ers…but Jimmy G ain’t the QB. I got them in 5-6 and going all the way. People really been asleep for months now. They've been an absolute powerhouse and the top team since the trades.
Lakers will win this series 👀
in 5
Not true, in 15 they were up 2-1 with the Cavs
It feels weird that all the time watching curry v lebron this only the 2nd time lebron actually has a fair shot to win the series, 2016 lebron won, lets see if steph can get the revenge
The refs
STEPHEN A. CREATES ALL POSSIBLE AND IMAGINARY NARRATIVES TO PLACE MJ ABOVE LEBRON IN THE DEBATE ABOUT WHO IS THE GOAT OF BASKETBALL: 1- I DEFENDED UNTIL A WEEK AGO THAT KEVIN DURANT IS THE BEST PLAYER ON THE PLANET. 2- NOW THAT YOU REALIZE THAT KEVIN DURANT FAILED TO PLAY WITH WESTBROOK AND HARDEN IN OKC, FAILED TO PLAY WITH CARYE IRVING AND HARDEN ON NETS, AND NOW YOU WILL FAIL TO PLAY WITH CP3 AND DEVIN BOOKER, SO YOU SOLVE IT TURNING ATTENTIONS ON STEPHEN CURRY, ANYTHING SO NO ONE SAYS LEBRON IS THE GOAT. OF THE TWO ONE, EITHER STEPHEN A. IS A BIG HATER OF LEBRON, OR I'M BEGINNING TO SUSPECT THAT STEPHEN A. IS PAID BY JORDAN TO DEFEND HIM TOOTH AND NAIL…!!! 👀🤔🤷♂️
A guy who only plays video games telling bron giving him the dillon brooks treatment, the audacity bro.😂
I hope the lakers sweep the warriors to prove this hypocrites that the lakers are the real deal.
Warriors mailed it in – PROOF = FOUL SHOTS ATTEMPTED – they were afraid to go inside – turn in your mancards as you exit – pitiful
Warriors got caught on soft fouls if it toughens up, AD might not make it to the end of this series, historically speaking. Too much finesse by the Warriors and did not challenge at the basket to draw fouls out of the Lakers. If you don't challenge to draw fouls, you can go full out bully ball and take a few offensive fouls. Great job by the Lakers and steal home court.
Andrew wiggins become nothing again if he play like this lakers in 5 for sure
Playoffs you always see the best of both teams on the floor what they have been holding back through out the season.
Cavs were up 2-1 in 2015 windy
How is 9 more 3s is 36 points advantage? Isn't 9 x 3 not equals to 27 in NBA?
The NBA is rigged
GS outplayed the Lakers until that timeout. After that time out the refs made sure to keep all integral warrior players in foul trouble on phantom fouls in turn allowing the lakers to hold push and foul but not even letting the warriors touch a lakers player without receiving a foul. Of course you won't tell that story but I will.
GS lost by 5 to AD and Lebron and an ill advised shot by Poole.
Just imagine what the game would've been like if it was officiated fairly.
