  1. What makes Kobe better than Mj. Is the injuries Kobe sustained and played through. MJ did the same thing but not as much as Kobe and also MJ had an all star team everytime until he played with the Wizards.

  2. Of course they did. Pau was a putz with no ego, and Kobe could play horse all day and dominate the entire Lakers franchise without Pau challenging him. In other words, Bryant could use him. You're also forgetting that despite what he said to the cameras, Pau left the Lakers, too. The Lakers offered him two lucrative 3 year deals, and he left for the Bulls of all places. So yeah, this was like everything else in Hollywood – just Hollywood. Kobe's tongue out at Shaq saying, "I can get along with a big man, see!" Same with Shaq and Wade. There wasn't any real brotherhood there. Shaq tolerated Kobe 8 years, Pau only made it 6 before heading out the door.

The Lakers also did Pau dirty, and that wouldn't have happened if these two were as close as this article claims. They still haven't retired his jersey despite him more or less winning that second championship for them (it was a Shaq-like performance in the finals). He gave them 2 rings, and for his career he averaged 17, 9, and 3.2. That's a whole lot closer to Shaq than you think, his end numbers were 18.6 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 3.7 APG, and 2.6 BPG in that second finals. Kobe shot 40% in that finals, guards like that don't win championships unless they have a big man having a hall of fame performance, too. Lakers had to pretend Pau was a sidepiece so they didn't offend Kobe's ego, but this man was a beast should have already had his jersey retired.

    Gotta love Hollywood.

  3. The Lakers were truly a blessed organization. They had three of the greatest 1-2 tandems in NBA history all within a span of 30 years.
    Magic and Kareem.
    Shaq and Kobe.
    And Kobe and Pau.

  4. star kobe bryant wasn't anywhere near as elite as legends george mikan elgin baylor shaquille o'neal jerry west magic johnson kareem abdul-jabbar and wilt chamberlain

  5. Kobe is beyond basketball. Hes a person that wants nothing but the best for anyone. Im a celtic fan who lived on watching the 2 boston vs lakers finals. And even tho i wanted boston to win more tha anything. I couldnt help notice i admired and respected Kobe as a player and a human being. Hes just one of those people who leave an impact. I know Kobe and Gigi are in heaven watching over us. I pray for him and his family.

  6. if lakers had gotten pau in the beginning of the season in 08, and they had a few better players .. they woulda 3 peated and he would have cemented himself right beside MJ.. even tho hes still beside him… that simple 6-5 is gonna be there .. otherwise they're the goats

  7. In Team Sports you can’t win championships alone without help. But having just players who are all high caliber and are always the first in and the last out isn’t good enough, they must have team chemistry with one another it either happens naturally, develops over time or the chemistry never comes to pass. Kobe and Paul’s chemistry with one another was off the charts.🏀🏀
