Israeli protesters block food convoys for starving civilians in Gaza | BBC News | Only Sports And Health

President Biden has told Israel there are “no excuses” for not allowing more humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The United Nations is warning that a quarter of the population of Gaza are close to starvation.

However some Israeli protesters are blocking aid convoys at the border, to prevent food reaching Gaza. Among them are family members of people taken hostage by Hamas in the October 7th attacks in Israel. They say no food aid should enter Gaza until all the hostages are released.

Sophie Raworth presents BBC News at Ten reporting by Orla Guerin at the Egypt/Israel border.

  1. ❤🌍🕊 I am a person who stand with and for the peace and humanity. My heart goes to those people who are suffering in Palestine and Israel. We can't blame one party for a war.

    Why I say this?

I live in a country called Sri Lanka. We have people with different beliefs live here namely, Buddhists, Catholics, Muslims and Hindus.

But what Islamic mosques do? It is a widely known fact that the Islamic preachers do teach the younger generation of Muslims only about the importance in prioritizing the people with their similar beliefs. According to them, a person with a different belief is not worth prioritizing. It is a brainwashing method for someone’s advantage maybe, but I don’t know who. I believe that teaching leads to ultimate separation and possible future wars. The younger generation of Muslims have become very serious about that and they have no idea about respecting other religions. They are extremely brain-washed I see. Sadly, the majority of the people around the world identify the muslims as violence. If they don't work to clear that from then, who will do that for them?

This fear of future threats caused by the teachings of Islamic mosques are driving other nationalities to declare wars against them. We have witnessed many wars like that against Muslims. That is why I said, WE CANNOT BLAME ONE PARTY on war situations.

I have a suggestion; the whole world should step forward and implement a monitoring method for all the religious centers (despite of the belief) around the world to monitor what they teach the followers. Via that, the world will identify who's spreading the racism.

If you have a better suggestion than this, please bring it out. This is the high time to do that.

I NEED A PEACEFUL WORLD and I STAND FOR IT. ❤🌍🕊

  2. Well if the Israeli population was getting the full story through their state media about the army's role in Gaza/Palestine, they might feel differently. All they get told is "the hostages this…" "the hostages that…" and so believe that Palestine as a nation is supporting Hamas willingly, em mass. That they don't care about their families, about the October 7 shootings.
They are being misled and misinformed so Netanyahu's administration can justify their war of genoside to the public.
These protesters likely believe they are making a good point and standing up for the victims but they don't really understand whats going on. They don't know better.
I'm sure they'd still care about the hostages if they did, but wouldn't be so quick to block aid for the Palestinian refugees.

  3. Usa people fought for freedom and justice and gained its independence. So when did he lose his soul and become a slave to imperialism? The real question is, how long can a country that has lost its soul survive?

  4. Biden and Cameronwants Israel to leave Rafah alone like Biden abandoned Afghaniistan. great military strategy when 18 of 22 battalions are gone. There is plenty of food in Gaza. it is over-priced because it was stolen by Hamas/UNRWA.

  5. Give back the hostages. Stop raping Jewish women. Why aren't the hostages getting aid?
Why has the world forgotten the massacre and the hostages? Because they are Jews.?
Seventy per cent of Gazans still support Hamas.

  6. The Holocaust comparisons are unavoidable. However, it's worth noting that even in Nazi Germany, it was stone faced soldiers carrying out the atrocities…not smiling, singing civilians, joyfully starving babies to death. This inhumanity is being carried out by ordinary people with no orders to follow.
