Over the past few weeks, Indonesia has become the epicenter of the pandemic in Asia. And just this weekend, the country recorded the highest number of daily deaths in the world. And infections peaked at more than 50,000 cases a day.
Those are the official figures, but experts say there are far more cases – people simply aren’t being tested enough. The worst seems to have passed, but case numbers remain very high. The country is hardly out in the clear. DW goes behind the scenes at a Jakarta hospital, where health care workers are overwhelmed.

problem with indonesia is…they only wanted their own health personnel. its a closed system. even those who graduate from indonesia cannot get a job there….indonesia literally doesnt have a healthcare system…

Another case of bias reporting by Western media . Fail to acknowledge that the Chinese vaccine save many lives in Indonesia while the reported Moderna vaccine were being hoarded by the US and other western countries.
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are also less effective against the delta variant as attested by situation in Israel.
Non vacciners, pls take your vaccine. It won't do any harm. If you get infected, it may be too late.
This is so inaccurate. The peak was back in mid July. Now the daily cases has gone down by half to around 26k/day..

iam scared…its take time for most of the asian countries to fully vaccinated their people because of the economy status and crisis…the delta is not over yet but now here comes the lambda…the reaserch of the lambda strain is still ongoing but it sure more dangerous than the delta…i hope all of our health care facility prepared for facing the lambda as many health care facilities all over the world are struggling hard facing the delta…please shut down and ban any international travel…as a Malaysian, i personally think we cant handle the lambda as now the delta variant really hit hard in Malaysia with 20k cases and 200-300 death per day…Malaysian health care system might collapsed if the lambda hit us…i really hope all of you guys (no matter where you are) stay safe and do our best to avoid being infected by the virus…always wear mask and sanitize your hand…
