The Lakers need a "STRONG TRUE CENTER" to contend with the Nuggets and other teams with size.
They don't need AD guarding Jokic. If AD is guarding and banging with Jokic… who is protecting and cleaning the glass?
LBJ needs shooters around him, and AD needs a Strong True Center. That's the Laker's formula for success. That's how they won and dominated in the 2020 championship. They have D'wight Howard and McGee. Asking Vando and Rui to occupy that center position is just not gonna work. The Laker's two centers are not it either. They need a D'Wight Howard and McGee-type centers.
The Lakers are good at other things. They just need to fix that Center position. In my opinion.

Jokic, Gordon, and Murray are physically stronger than any player at their position. These 3 shove everybody out of the way. The only way around them is either get people as strong or stronger, or shoot the lights out of the building. Lakers are not grabbing the WCF this year or next.

Jamal Murray just gets underappreciated so much. "The best pair in basketball…" "The unstoppable two man game…" "Well Murray isn't as good as some of the number two guys on teams"… well… which is it? Murray plays D, distributes, penetrates, hits 3s, is a BEAST in crunch time, shows leadership, energy, and great attitude both on the floor and on the bench. Honestly, if he were giving the same numbers and game outcomes for a team without Joker he would be getting All-Star votes.

The Joker has AD’s number. He’s gonna always outperform him because his mentality is on a whole different level. Not to mention he’s consistency is unmatched.
