The prime minister is announcing strict new curbs on life in the UK to tackle the spread of coronavirus.
From this evening people must stay at home except for shopping for basic necessities, daily exercise, any medical need and travelling to and from essential work.
Shops selling non-essential goods will also be shut and gatherings in public of more than two people who do not live together prohibited.
If people do not follow the rules police will have the powers to enforce them, including through fines and dispersing gatherings, Boris Johnson said in a televised statement from Downing Street.

And now, in December 2023, a Parliamentary Enquiry has basically called BJ a liar, yes, a LIAR! And not only that, Partygate PROVED that he was, and IS! Lying in the faces of those bereft, who could not attend hospitals to be with their loved-ones, or attending their subsequent funeral service. He is throughly abhorrent and rancid to the core!
This is so weird for me to say this as we are nearly approaching 4 years, as I know people have lost someone but for me who hasn't , lockdown one was one of happiest period of my life (especially when furlough was announced and approved by my employer ). I was gyming , baking , gaming (war zone) with the mrs, using house party and teams to day connected with friends and family had a proper daily routine and got so much done around the flat , sure it was was frustrating in the beginning lining for hours in line at Sainsbury's etc just to do a quick shop. Even looking forward until Thursdays at 8pm for the NHS claps truly nostalgic for me.

A throughly rancid liar. And I say this in hindsight in 2023. I went about my daily activities, shopping, funerals, meeting numerous friends, and sharing cross-community meals. WHY? Because it was blatantly obvious that the Prime Minister was scaremongering….Especially in in light of the facts that he and his select cronies simply IGNORED their own advice, nearly like they were 'exempt' in some way. Despite my actions, I am happy to report 2 points. 1) I have never been infected with Covid and 2) Therefore, I have never been a burden to our brilliant NHS. Can Boris say the same?

Just watching this back is making me cry. From this moment on my life changed and only just now in 2024 is my life starting to get back on track.
Really feels like yesterday I watched this. It's easy to forget with time, but that time was truly terrifying.
What a load of bollocks that was!!
Watching this four years on, it still gives me chills. It was such a surreal announcement. I was a keyworker so had to go to work the next day but so many people then had to stay home for weeks. Going to work was so weird too as most of our colleagues were at home. I don't think I felt the full effects of lockdown because I still went into work but my children and family did and it did have long term repercussions on my mums health because services were reduced.
How we all was fooled and put up with this pure corruption and rubbish 🤣made alot of money for MPs with investment in vaccine companies and killed of other small businesses and company's
