Virgil van Dijk headed a 118th-minute winner to seal the Carabao Cup for Liverpool with a 1-0 win over Chelsea.

Jurgen Klopp’s swansong season has guaranteed at least one piece of silverware for the club, but it took a long time to get there in a topsy-turvy encounter that somehow stayed goalless for nearly the duration at Wembley.

  1. One reason Kloop is leaving is the disgusting and uselessness of English ref if the fan do not do something the gamt we becoming more useless to watch in England bad ref that was a red accidental or not

  2. As a Liverpool fan I was so scary after 90 mins. Got a feeling that Chelsea really got their momentum and will simply destroy Liverpool in 30 mins extras, taking into account lack of experience and fitness for Liverpool team (mid week game affects for sure). But for some reason Chelsea sat back and did almost nothing in extras, that does not make sense for me tbh.

  3. Can we have a channel dedicated to Jurgen's post game hugs and handshakes please? Also, the team spirit and togetherness that is obvious amongst the players is just incredible.

  4. I think that was the key'? Pochettino says, referring to Chelsea's multiple missed chances. The key was that you took off the most likely player to score those Chelsea chances at the moment they were most likely to come, Raheem Sterling. Man City must be thinking, 'Why didn't their manager do that for us when we played them?' 'What are your immediate thoughts?' Pochettino was asked after the game. Wrong answer. Your immediate thoughts should be, 'Why the hell did I let the negativity by a racist media get to my head and the head of my staff about my most experienced and successful player whose actions on the pitch have been decisive in earlier in the season helping me and my team not lose against the big teams such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham when they were at the top of the table, Man City and Man City again just recently? If I didn't let that negative nonsense they have been inflicted on him throughout his incredibly successful career since the age of 17 years old that goes against the facts and has nothing to do with football get to my head and the head of my staff, I would have realised that it is only logical that he would be the one to produce the action that stops us losing against this big team in this match too as he had been before and I would not have taken him off for the last 30 minutes when the game always opens up and defenses get more vulnerable. I would have realised that this player is most dangerous when the pressure is high and others buckle to the pressure and the spaces Gallagher was finding and missing his chances from would have been taken by this player and he would have scored one and certainly maybe two goals in this game. What would managers like Pep who selected this player more than any other player in his record breaking managerial career have been thinking when they saw me make that stupid and disrespectful decision to this player and all he has achieved, to think these young players who have achieved nothing when he has achieved, not just more than them, but more than me, are the better bet to get a goal or win this high pressure game? This insanity with no logic. What the hell was I doing? This player is the highest scoring English winger in Premier League history who has a history of excelling and providing the crucial action in these kind of high pressure games and games, against big teams for Man City, for England dragging them to their first final in half a century, and for Chelsea this season when they were expected to lose against big teams, and I took him off at 0-0 in a final when we needed a goal. I took off England's second highest goal scorer and highest assist provider with a shelf full of medals and experience from these kinds of matches when I needed a goal and my opponent kept his most experienced player on the pitch and that experienced player then scored the goal they needed, and he was a defender. What the hell did I do? I and my staff who should have helped me see this error better apologise to the fans, to the owner of the club, and most importantly to this experienced player, Raheem Sterling whose efforts to help the club in their rebuilding project by supporting the youngsters and getting them through the big games they were expected to lose have been unnecessarily trashed though absolute negligence and disrespect for him when he could be somewhere else winning more trophies where he is better appreciated and respected. The other great managers he played for did not listen to the negative nonsense said about him by the racist media and played him and had faith in him and won trophies doing this, and one got their national team to their first international final in half a century too. What the hell did I do? To make things worse he had put the ball in the back of the net earlier in the game, even if he was just offside so it did not count, proving he was sharp and ready to not fail to score when the next opportunity would come, as he had done so often in his history before. Where were my staff to help me and warn me of this big mistake when I needed them? What use are they if they could not see this, how good are they? Good heavens!' That should have been Pochettino's answer. The Chelsea players played well, the manager and his staff let them down and literally handicapped them with an outrageously incompetent decision. Peace and love

  5. I still dont get why on paper Chelsea was expected to win?? Chelseas squad is utter dogshit. Take the 1 billion away from the equation and maybe connor Gallagher may get into a team higher in the league. The rest are dogshit.

  6. The game was fixed to be 0.0 .
Can someone tell me why was v v ds goal disallowed?
Was the Chelsea goal on side or off ? Anyone .
The game is fixed football is ruined its boring its stop start pish.
    Shame on that referee.
    He should be sacked.
    Celtic fc ,ynwa

  7. This City fan salutes the mighty Reds, what as awesome team!! It has to be said, they're the greatest team the English league has ever produced. And look at you Chelsea, Royalist and Loyalist, the Rangers of English football, you've lost three finals to Liverpool in the last two years……ha!! Should have stayed at City, Sterling, then you would have been a winner not a loser.
