  1. Thank you for having me on the channel! One thing I wanted to clarify is that I do support the use of semaglutide in type 2 diabetes AND in people who are obese/overweight with a weight-related condition. Obesity is a chronic, complex disease and it is not uncommon for people struggle to lose weight with diet modifications and exercise alone, so there is certainly a role for medication-assisted weight loss. Though the long-term effects do need to be further studied and side effects exist, in my opinion, the more options we have for treatment the better. The decision to start semaglutide should be an individualized one based on a person's specific potential benefit vs risk – there is no "right" answer for all. When there is a shortage and every dose matters, we need to prioritize those who for which it can be the greatest benefit – which includes both people with type 2 diabetes and people with obesity/overweight and does NOT include people who want to lose a couple pounds to fit into a particular outfit or achieve an "underweight" appearance.

  2. Obesity is a medical ailment. Stop judging fat people for wanting to prevent more illness by getting meds to help them. As far as supply shortage … Stop blaming patients , the drug companies are deliberately controlling supply to profit more . Its not right to blame obese people for depriving diabetics of their medication ! Such a stupid and dangerous oopinion from a doctor !!!!

  3. Isn’t it hilarious. A cosmetic surgeon telling you to love and accept yourself the way you are! He cracks me up!
Also, isn’t it very sad that diabetics who really need Ozempic can’t find it because it has all been purchased by folk trying to lose weight.

  4. Welcome Dr. Elizabeth! I watch your hubby's channel all the time. Thanks for this informative breakdown. The Ozempic trend just lost me as a candidate as soon as I heard you say the words "cancer" and "fatal" lol. Someone just needs to come up with a pill to remove stubborn belly fat specifically.

  5. Summery: side effects are….Kidney disease, thyroid cancer, diabetic retinopathy, difficulty swallowing, pancreatis. This is not good for you and once you stop taking this drug, you will just gain the weight back. So it is not a win at all.

  6. The face is something that happen to anyone losing weight fast. The way people is talking about this like is something the drug specifically is doing which is not true

  7. The shortage of ozempic is temporary, soon the Drug companies will catch up. Besides, there is Wegovy and a lot of money to made so I don’t believe the shortage will last long

  8. I am an overweight patient with high blood pleasure, and I want to look “normal” just healthier and not too big so I can enjoy going out to the beach, swimming pools, etc…

Your wife mentioned in her own words that in order to keep the weight loss the patient can’t stop using Ozempic right? That means if I stop using it I will be back to be overweight?

Thanks again the two of you for this very informative video.

  9. I'm on Novolog due to my type one diabetes, NOW I have to switch insulins after being on this one for decades DUE TO THE FACT that there's now a shortage due to people taking Novolog for weight loss….um….I need it to live. Now I have to upset my apple cart due to a shortage and have a different insulin prescribed. This is not good at all-I can't figure out why people are doing this and doctors are to blame!

  10. Why do people still seek a quick fix for weight loss!? Drugs aren’t sustainable, and puts you at risk for complications.

I realize that everyone can’t make it to the gym 4-5x/ week or eat super healthy immediately changing your habits but you need to start walking and make small changes to your daily habits and your eating patterns.

Literally waking 20 mins/ day will do more for you then these horrific drugs!

You can start with walking for 5 or 10 mins if need be, then gradually gear it up.

  11. I too thought that a drug could cure me. But I am fortunate o find my healing in Ayurveda through HAIP Diet. I have lost 30 kgs on it and a feeling more energy than I ever felt.

  12. All you who cannot lose weight naturally and take all the diabetic medicine from the diabetics for your fast weight loss make me sick. My husband who is a diabetic and needs this medicine, is having a hard time getting his medicine, because it's always on back on order, because of your stupidity!
